Union Centre Food Truck Rally

Fun little festival with a nice variety of food trucks that contain actual meal sized items! Also several drink (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) and dessert options too! Family friendly too :).

As usual I hit up my favorite food truck Empanadas aqui! I love their Hairy Arepa, it’s wonderful–filled with deliciously cooked pork, avocado/cilantro sauce and Gouda cheese. They’re Carne Mechada (beef) and Bad Girl (chicken) empanadas are also scrumptious and be sure to order a side of tostones.

Oh and don’t leave without a soft serve treat from the Mobile Cone 😉

A festival of food trucks plus beer & ice cream for good measure.
This is an annual gathering of food trucks lined up along a few blocks near the Union Centre clock tower. They offer food early in the day for lunch and keep serving through the evening. Free and easy parking is available nearby. Many of the vendors accept credit cards but drinks are cash only. You can expect about 30 food vendors and foot traffic of about 10,000 throughout the day.
I was familiar with several of the food trucks in attendance but this is an easy way to check off some of those places that just aren’t available nearby all the time. Visit earlier in the day as after 8pm some items or entire trucks may start selling out. You can tell which trucks utilize commissary kitchens for the volume of food and speed in prep they can keep for such a long event.
The evening is capped off with a headliner band and fireworks in the square.
