Owner Gianni Antinoro, native of Villalba, Sicily, had a vision of a family oriented establishment with strong Italian roots. He wanted to create an inviting atmosphere, paired with authentic cuisine. To achieve this vision, Gianni called upon his nephew, Zack, and together they fulfilled their dreams of exciting the palates of their patrons since 2006, right here at Toscano in Bordentown City.
Executive Chef Zack Melker is a graduate of the French Culinary Institute of Manhattan.
While enrolled in the Institute, Zack worked at the famous Scalini Fedeli in Tribeca, NY, as well as Nougatine, a top French restaurant on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Zack also worked at The Ferry House in Princeton, NJ. It was there that he cooked for the likes of our former President Bill Clinton, for a fundraising campaign for the Greenwood House in Trenton.
Chef Zack and Toscano have been featured in several established publications, including an article in New Jersey Monthly’s Italian Food Issue; The Best Italian Restaurants. He was featured as one of the Six Top Italian Chefs in New Jersey (as well as the women who inspire them).
In addition to creating a flourishing culinary enterprise, Zack has catered for our New Jersey Governors and his associates at the State House in Trenton. His success and expertise in the field of culinary arts has surely proved him to become an asset to his community.
Chef Zack has used his background to create delight and excite the palates of his patrons. Tuscany’s fare may change daily while he fuses old world cooking with his new world flair. His eclectic food style coupled with patrons’ favorites range from traditional and unique pastas to hand picked prime meats that are dry aged to perfection on the premises.
