The Schuylkill Highlands is one of seven ‘Conservation Landscape Initiative’ regions in Pennsylvania, and as the name suggests, includes the Schuylkill River Watershed for the most part and the southeastern-most section of the Pennsylvania Highlands.
Scenic trails form an impressive recreational network linking communities and unique resources including French Creek State Park, Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, Valley Forge National Historic Park, the 130-mile-long Schuylkill River Trail, and Hopewell Big Woods.
