PBX Books is Central Jersey’s Independent Used Bookstore since 1977. Romance, Thrillers, Mysteries, Beach Reads, SciFi, Memoirs, YA & Kids… and a whole lot more. We have books for all ages, across all genres, including picture books for the little ones who haven’t gotten that whole “reading” thing down yet. On our shelves you’ll find everything from daring detectives and lost loves, thought to memoirs of past presidents and androids dreaming of electric sheep. We have books to escape into on rainy day or while sprawled out on the beach, as well as ones that will take you to times past or teach you the perspectives of other peoples. From the guiltiest pleasure of a beach read through to that Special Edition you’ve spent years searching for, we are here to help old books find new readers and that no page is left unturned.

We are Central Jersey’s independent used bookstore. First opened in 1977 by Isabelle Carlo, then passed on to Shari Sanford in 2009, we are proud to be a woman owned business. With the expansion and redesign of the Belmar Plaza we moved to our current location in 1982. Over the years we have continued to be a cornerstone of the neighborhood, a meeting place for those young and old.
