Our Story Vantage’s exclusive Cultural Connections give you the most intimate views of local culture. In October 1983 when entrepreneur Henry Lewis launched his dream – to provide a better travel choice for a group of travelers that he knew had been overlooked. “There was a whole world of educated, energetic mature travelers out there, full of enthusiasm for experiencing the world,” he says. “They also had an appreciation for deluxe accommodations that the typical tour company didn’t offer. That audience was not being offered a superior, well-managed tour that offered good value for their travel dollar.” He says that typical tours of the day also lacked a sense of cultural connection. What if he could introduce travelers to local people where they live, work, and play … and enlist the very best regional guides to unveil the secrets of the places they call home … while still offering the best value in travel that anyone had ever seen? And so began Vantage Deluxe World Travel.
