The first Harvest Home Fair was in 1860, but that was a continuation of tradition that dates back to 1806 when a farmer began an annual festival to celebrate a hearty harvest. The Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis Club took over the reins of the fair in 1939 for the 79th annual fair and 2010 they formed a Kiwanis + community organization, the Harvest Home Fair Association that runs the fair today!
The fair is considered a success when “Good People” attend. An estimated crowd of 15-18,000 will be in attendance at the Parade and Fair this year. There is something for everyone here. It’s almost impossible for someone to visit the fair and not find something that interests them.
All in all it is expected that the fair this year will be even more successful than the year before. It truly is “The Biggest Little Fair in Ohio.“
