Established in 1917.
San Antonio Winery continues to be a family-owned and operated business. Founder Santo Cambianica along with his nephew Stefano Riboli set the grounds for what would eventually become the original urban winery. The winery survived Prohibition by serving sacramental wines for the churches – something the other hundred or so wineries could not secure. Eventually, the other wineries closed for good and the San Antonio Winery saw a surge in their business. The winery was established as a historical landmark in 1965. In the following years following, Stefano and his wife Maddalena, along with their children, began to purchase vineyard properties in Northern California and the Central Coast. The San Antonio Winery is Los Angeles’ only producing winery and still exists where it was first founded over 100 years ago, with additional shops in Paso Robles and Ontario.
